Leviticus 19, Matthew 22, Mark 12, Romans 13. These are just some of the chapters from all different parts of the Bible with the same is a recurring message: love God, your neighbor, and yourself. This year in Youth Group, we are going to work on putting this commandment into practice. We will also take a closer look at the question asked of Jesus in Luke 10:29: Who is my neighbor?
Youth Group meetings will be on the 2nd and 4th Sunday evenings: October 9 and 23 with the Middle School group meeting from 4:30 – 6 and the High School group from 6 – 7:30. Among other activities, we will get started on an exciting “upcycling” project for the new Youth Lounge (room 4); we’ll make soup for our congregation’s Midnight Run in November; and we just might practice some random acts of kindness. We also will get to hear about how our mission group practiced loving our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness in New York City on the 24 Hour Mission Trip to Broadway Presbyterian Church.
