Thanksgiving Turkeys for the Food Pantry! And a Special Offer from ACME

holiday-meals-post

The Food Pantry appreciates gifts of turkeys for our clients’ Thanksgiving dinners. They can be dropped off on Saturday, November 19 at the back door to Room 16 (cemetery side) any time between 7:30 am and 10:30 am (we open at 9, but turkeys arriving late will certainly find a home!)

Last year we distributed turkeys to 160+ families. ACME has a special promotion going on RIGHT NOW.  In weeks leading up to Thanksgiving week, including this week, a customer who spends $100 receives a FREE turkey. What is novel about this is …the limit is 1 turkey per week so you can spend a $100 and get your turkey this week. Go back next week and spend $100 and get one for the pantry. This offer ends November 17. You must spend $100 in a single transaction after discounts and all coupons and you will receive a Jennie-O Grade A Basted Frozen Turkey 10 – 22lb. or Frozen Turkey Breast 4 to 7lb.  You can find the coupon in the Acme Weekly Ad or you can clip it to your MyMixx Account.

Locally Foodtown in Croton and Shoprite also have free turkey promotions going on.

Any donation is much appreciated because of the cost of a turkey really ramps up the amount we spend for the Thanksgiving pantry. We expect most turkeys will be obtained from the Food Bank but the cost there is essentially the same as in a supermarket.

You can also donate monetarily to the Food Pantry with a check annotated “Food Pantry” or online.

And don’t forget our Thanksgiving Offering! As in past years the Mission Commission is directing this offering to purchasing Christmas hams for our Food Pantry clients.
