Hunger doesn’t know about Covid-19
As many of you may have seen on Facebook, for our March 14th pantry we switched to pre-packed bags and fresh air distribution, out of health safety considerations for both our staff and our clients. Thanks to our terrific volunteers, and the patience of our clients, this new model worked very well. We saw about the same number of clients as usual, and they were very grateful that FPCY was still open to assist them. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our methods to best protect everyone while helping our hungry neighbors.
How can you help? We are always in need of fruit (canned or juice) and breakfast cereal as these items are expensive and often difficult for us to acquire. Bags (paper, plastic or reusable) are also always needed. Financial contributions enable us to shop efficiently. And your prayers that we can find the right innovative approaches to keep operating!
We encourage our volunteers who are in risk categories to stay home and be safe.
Members of our church family: if you are self-quarantining and need food delivered please let us know.
