An Update on our Solar Production

Our solar panels started producing electricity late last year. Here’s an update (we get billing reports every two months for our main electric circuit):

In January and February, in the depth of winter with little sun, we produced about 45% of the electricity we used.

In March and April, we produced about 160% of the electricity we used, allowing us to “bank” 2060 kWhrs of electricity.

In May and June, we produced about 340% of the electricity we used, banking an additional 6300 kWhrs.

The excess production will allow us to cancel out much of our winter electricity usage. Our electric bills since March have just been the minimum “basic charge” that NYSEG bills us.

As we continue to get billing statements, we’ll keep the congregation updated!
