Worship in the Park

We worship together at Downing Park, share communion during the service and then lunch around picnic tables. A wonderful day of fellowship. Bring your own lawn chairs, if you’d prefer.

What is a Christian Disciple? If someone asked you that question, how would you respond? In the Great Commission at the end of the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells his disciples, “Go and make disciples.” What does he mean by that? If that is the church’s commission, how do we know when we are making disciples and being disciples? We introduce at the picnic this question (What is a Christian Disciple?) and theme that will become the focus of our worship for September and October, as well as opportunities for further study in Adult Education, youth group, church school and stewardship. Join us at the picnic to discover ways we practice discipleship together this fall.
