Summer Project Recap

The Operations Commission has had a busy summer keeping up with the demands of our campus with the work falling into two broad categories, tasks which we tackled and accomplished ourselves and tasks completed by external contractors.

In the former category, our dedicated team of Dick, Jerry, and Bud have tended to and weeded the several gardens which border our buildings as well as the bed by the 129/202 intersection and the Agape Garden, trimmed bushes, re-chocked the parking areas, placed boulders to re-frame the Butterfly Garden, scraped, sanded and painted various areas of the Sanctuary and the list goes on and on.

In the latter category, the decrepit fence which bordered the main driveway has been replaced by a new vinyl fence with a cross-hatched top border. In front of the Sanctuary you will notice that all flagstones have been leveled and all seams have been chipped out and replaced with new concrete. Additionally, the handicapped ramp has been excavated and smoothed out.

Soon we will be scheduling a tent takedown afternoon and a fall cleanup morning both of which will call for any willing volunteers. Please consider joining us for these as well as our regularly scheduled and unscheduled activities.
