The Westchester County Department of Environmental Facilities is hosting three household recycling days this fall, to help residents dispose of garbage that requires special handling. These items may include hazardous chemicals and household cleaners, computers and televisions, lightbulbs, car tires, propane tanks, metal and other items. The three household clean-up days will be in addition to regular drop-off hours at the Westchester County Household Material Recovery Facility (H-MRF) in Valhalla.
The Household Recycling Day schedule is as follows:
September 29 – Material Recovery Facility, Yonkers
October 13 – FDR Park, Yorktown Heights
November 3 – Playland, Rye
The County also provides a Recyling HelpLine that is available 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can contact the Recycling HelpLine at (914) 813-5425 or schedule an appointment on the reservations calendar.
