Who would think there are Bible stories that can help small children learn to count? The answer is a new book for very young children: “Who Counts? 100 Sheep, 10 Coins, and 2 Sons.” (Bible section). It is a creative retelling of three of Jesus’ most popular parables, namely the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son. In each story, the main message is about counting, searching for what is missing, and celebrating becoming whole again. Colorfully illustrated and including suggestions for Sunday School teachers and parents of preschool children, this is a beautiful and useful resource.
