Remember the Harry Potter Sunday last fall? You can learn more about the Christian and ethical themes in the series in God and Harry Potter at Yale by Rev. Danielle Elizabeth Tumminio (201 T), now in the church library. Rev Tumminio presents a detailed yet accessible discussion of how these beloved characters struggle with complex theological concepts through the course of the books. As she concludes: “the richness of Christianity and the unique take that the Harry Potter books have on that tradition point to a faith that believes people suffer from sin and evil, but the life of Jesus of Nazareth is a sign that this pain can be transformed.”
