Happy New Year one and all! 2017 is here and we’re going to make sure that it is full of love, kindness and fun. We already have some fun plans on the way for Youth Group! In January, we’ll be meeting on our usual 2nd and 4th Sunday evenings, with the Middle School group meeting from 4:30 – 6 and the High School from 6 – 7:30.
On January 8, we will be baking up a storm to make dessert for the Noontime Meal that is served at the Salvation Army in Peekskill. On January 22, we are going to make fleece scarves with the help of Norean Radke. The scarves will be distributed to folks who are experiencing homelessness by our Confirmation Class in February. In addition to those activities, we’ll also be working on our upcycled t-shirt rug, so bring in your old t-shirts. The Middle School group will continue working on a skit that we’ll be putting on during worship in the near future. We could use a few more actors, so if you want to be a part of it (even a small part) come to Youth Group in January!
Looking ahead to February, we’ll meet on Sunday, February 12th (at 4:30 and 6). Then on Tuesday, February 21, join us for ice skating at Bear Mountain! We’ll meet at the church at 11 am to carpool over to Bear Mountain (in case of inclement weather, we’ll go on Sunday the 26th, meeting at 3 pm). More details will follow, but make sure to mark your calendar! Drivers will be needed.
And another thing to put on your calendar now: the Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be on February 28th. The Confirmation Class will be flipping the ‘cakes and sausage in the kitchen and we’ll have jobs available for all Youth who want to help out as greeters and servers.
