All Middle and High Schoolers are invited as we turn the Youth Room into our own mini movie theater where we will have pizza (gluten-free will be available) and watch our feature film for the evening: Arctic Tale
Tomorrow April 24: 5:30-7:30.
Narrated by Queen Latifah, the movie follows a polar bear cub and a young walrus as they live and grow to maturity in the frozen wilderness of the North. With breathtaking cinematography, we will travel across the tundra with these animals and their communities as they adapt to the changes to their environment.
Our movie will be followed by a conversation with our congregation’s own Connie Knapp who is active both on the FPCY Green Team as well as that of the Hudson River Presbytery. We will chat with her about what we can do to slow climate change and what influence faith communities can have on this issue.
Mark Your Calendars for These Upcoming Youth Events:
Saturday, May 9th: Come join us at the Garden of Hope Work Day! We’ll be getting the soil ready for another season of planting and raising veggies to provide fresh, healthy veggies for our hungry neighbors. There will be lots of work to do, so join us from 11 – 4, or any part of the day you can come volunteer. Let Steph know if you can come get your hands dirty at the Garden of Hope in Willow Park (or wear gloves, that’s good too).
Sunday, May 22nd: we’ll have Youth Groups are our regular times: Middle School from 5:30 – 7, and High School from 6:30 – 8 pm
And Everyone is invited to our first CrossGen Wednesday – an Intergenerational Faith Formation event on May 4th!
All ages are invited to come out on Wednesday, May 4th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm for dinner, conversation, games, crafts, and music as we bring together all generations for fellowship and fun!
And when we say all ages are invited, we mean all ages! No one is too young, and definitely, no one is too old. This is an opportunity for the generations to learn from each other as we grow in our faith together.
Our theme for the evening is “Honor God’s Diversity.” Join us as we explore God’s creation, practice ways to celebrate diversity with intentionality, and recognize that as people of God, our diversity is something that can unify us
