YAV Volunteer Shaina in Peru – “A walk in my (very dirty) shoes”

On August 30, our church commissioned three Young Adult Volunteers for their year of service. They are each writing about their experiences on personal blogs. Shaina Miller, who is working in a children’s center in Lima, Peru writes vividly of one typical day, beginning with breakfast with her host family, a morning of Spanish lessons, and afternoons with children at the center, teaching English and playing, before the children walk back to their homes high up above the city.
