Many of you know that the prayer shawl group knits and crochets prayer shawls for people in our congregation and community that need our prayers. But we also make white baptism blankets for our babies and children who are baptized as well as red confirmation scarves for our confirmation class.
For over 10 years we’ve also been donating blankets to Project Linus, a national organization with local chapters that collects and distributes blankets to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug. We meet them twice a year for a blanket “hand-off”.
In April we met Project Linus Representative Mary Lou and donated 69 blankets. Mary Lou added 5 of her own prayer shawls to our prayer shawl group!
