Join us on February 14 at 12:15 in the Library for another opportunity to learn about our upcoming summer mission trip!

We are traveling to Atlanta, GA July 31 – Aug 5 with DOOR, a faith-based network of cities that provides opportunities for service, learning, and leadership development within the urban context. We will be traveling to DOOR’s Atlanta location, which partners with 32 social service agencies across the city.

We will participate with a variety of service projects while we are in Atlanta. Our daily work may include projects such as: working on an urban farm that is combating the lack of access to nutritious food in the inner-city; assisting clients in a furniture “store” that helps people transitioning from shelter living to independent living by providing furniture for their new homes; serving as wait-staff at a soup kitchen.

In addition to the service projects during the work day, DOOR provides speakers and education/ reflection activities in the evenings that will help us deepen our understanding of the issues that affect people in the inner-city. And we will visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change.

No special skills required other than a positive and enthusiastic attitude. This trip is open to Adults and Youth who will have completed 9th grade by the summer.

Information sheet about the mission trip.

Registration forms are due in the church office by March 1.
