Mental Health Sunday — A Song of Sabbath Rest — May 30

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-29)
This Sunday, the Mental Health Team invites us to experience the gift of rest as a part of caring for our mental health and wellbeing. Practicing rest is vital for mental health because it allows our bodies and minds to reset. Stepping away from constant demands helps calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and create space for God’s presence to renew us. In this way, Jesus’ “easy yoke” becomes an invitation to live with lighter burdens—grounded in grace, sustained by rest, and nurtured in wholeness.

Join us in worship at 8am (in-person) and 10:30am (in-person and online) on May 31.
