Giving Tuesday is a national movement to shift our attention away from the commercial craziness that comes with Black Friday and Cyber Monday to real tangible ways that we can have a more substantial effect in our communities.
Below you will see a small sampling of the ways your charitable gifts can be directed through myfpcy.org

Your gifts support the ministry and mission of this congregation — our wonderful worship and music,
faith formation for children, youth and adults,
many mission opportunities , our welcoming facility,
and community connections and outreach.

A gift to the General Fund enables FPCY to do all the things that we do. From maintaining our building, to supporting our staff, programs and the outreach of our various commissions, your support has been an essential part in the role we play in our community and beyond.

A gift to the Pentecost Offering helps the church encourage, develop, and support its young people, and also addresses the needs of at-risk children. 40% is used by FPCY locally while 60% goes to the Presbyterian Mission Agency’s youth initiatives such as the Young Adult Volunteers program.

A gift to the Food Pantry is a gift to over 200 families that have difficult time putting food on their tables. Donations can be made in any amount AND they will be doubled via our matching gift program with the FPCY Food Pantry Trust!

By giving to the Christmas Joy Offering, you help to provide assistance to current and retired church workers in their time of need and to develop our future leaders at Presbyterian-related racial ethnic schools and colleges.

A gift to One Great Hour of Sharing enables the church to share God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the world by providing relief to those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and helping to empower the poor and oppressed.

A gift to the Peace & Global Witness Offering enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of injustice across the world. Individual congregations are encouraged to utilize up to 25% of this Offering to connect with the global witness of Christ’s peace. Mid councils retain an additional 25% for ministries of peace and reconciliation. The remaining 50% is used by the Presbyterian Mission Agency to advocate for peace and justice in cultures of violence, including our own, through collaborative projects of education and Christian witness.

December 4th is Giving Sunday, an FPCY tradition.

Items for the Hat and Mitten Tree, Bedford Prison Children’s Center, and Toys for Teens will be collected during the services on Giving Sunday, December 4. You can find details of what is requested here. Please bring all items unwrapped, though extra wrapping paper is always welcome.

If you are unable to attend services on December 4, you may drop off items in the church office. We ask you to consider giving to one or more of these efforts.
