In the Church Library – “Inside Islam” DVD

If you missed the September program on understanding Islam, sponsored by the Yorktown clergy, the church library has purchased the DVD Inside Islam; What a Billion Muslims Really Think.

The Gallup poll organization designed a comprehensive questionnaire and interviewed thousands of Muslims worldwide. Questions covered a wide range of topics, including culture and politics as well as religion.  Their opinions about the U.S. are especially enlightening and sobering.  We have heard so much in the past decade about the few Muslims who are Islamic terrorists that we may not realize the vast majority of Muslims want most of the same things we do — freedom, security, better lives for their children.

In addition to the DVD, the library has the accompanying book with more detail about the findings: Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think (297 E), by John L. Esposito and Dalia Moghed.
