Montreat Youth Conference is coming: July 28 – Aug 4

We have a really great group forming! If you haven’t signed up already, now is the time.

Reserve your spot by January 15th:
  • Fill out an information slip and return it to the office or to Steph with a check for $100 (deposit) with “Montreat” in the memo line OR pay the deposit online at MyFPCY.org (select “Youth Conferences” as the fund in Step 2).
  • If you are interested in MYC, but not 100% sure of your summer plans, please Steph know that too.

Montreat Youth Conference (MYC) is a unique gathering of young people from all over the country for a week of study, worship, and recreation in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina.

MYC is designed for high school students, entering freshmen through graduated seniors. Activities include morning energizers, music, keynote, small group meetings, afternoon recreation activities, and evening worship.

FPC Yorktown is partnering with Huguenot Memorial Presbyterian Church in Pelham for our inaugural journey to MYC.

We will depart from Yorktown early in the morning of Saturday, July 28, travel by van to meet up with the Huguenot crew and caravan the rest of the way to North Carolina, arriving at Montreat Saturday night. We will be making stops for lunch, dinner, and rest stops. We will have activities with our “back home group” before the Conference officially kicks off Sunday late afternoon. We will depart on Saturday, August 4 after breakfast at Montreat. We plan to return to Yorktown at approximately 11 pm.

Cost: The entire cost of the trip is about $750. We are asking all trip participants to cover 1/3rd of the cost of the trip, $250, and participate in fundraising activities. We also have scholarships available – please don’t let cost be an obstacle to your participation. Please speak to Steph, Tami, or Chip if you are interested in a scholarship.

The theme of the 2018 Montreat Youth Conference is “Lift Every Voice”. MYC 2018 will strive to be a place where authenticity, community, connection, and God’s truth thrive. It will seek to be an inclusive place where each voice can be heard and where each heart can be molded; where change is invited, challenge is expected, and where all are embraced. We hope you can join us!
