Floor Remediation:
Our tiling project in the Gathering Space, Cross Hallway and the Coat Room has been completed. This entailed ripping up the old tile, putting down a ¼ inch 5 ply subfloor and then laying down new vinyl tile. All cove moldings were replaced. The new tile was scrubbed several times, sealed and then waxed with three coats of prime wax. In addition, the West Hallway was stripped of all wax, cleaned thoroughly, sealed and waxed with three coats of wax. The kitchen floor has been scrubbed each time we were working on the newly tiled spaces. We plan to retile Fellowship Hall in the near future as it is in need of remediation.
Improvement Project:
Jose has been diligently working in the Treasurer’s Office repairing, spackling and painting.
Routine Maintenance:
All fluorescent & incandescent bulbs throughout the facilities have been checked and replaced where needed. Several ballasts have also been replaced. All of our timers for outside flood lights have been reset for daylight savings time. Two flood lights which shine on the steeple are not working. We are awaiting an appointment with the electrician for correcting the issues with these flood lights.
Spring Clean-up:
We have established a new date for our Spring Clean-up, May 31. (Rain date is June 7) We will begin work on May 31 at 8:30am and work until noon, at which time we will have lunch in Fellowship Hall.
Please mark your calendars and reserve these times. We need all the help we can get as we will have a lot of jobs both inside our facilities as well as outdoors. As we get closer to the date we will advise about the kind of tools which will be handy in doing the work.

We are striving to keep our facilities in first class shape. If you see something that isn’t quite right, please bring it to the attention of any member of Operations or myself. We will endeavor to remedy the issue quickly or plan for a longer range improvement if that is what is called for.
