Mission Commission March 2013

The Mission Commission has been looking into ways we can have more of an impact as we do God’s work.  Please think about joining us on March 12 at 7:30pm as we work together to help set this year’s mission work.

Things in Place

We’ll be taking up the One Great Hour of Sharing offering during the month of March.  The offering goes to support Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People.  We have seen first-hand how PDA has responded to those who have been displaced by Hurricane Sandy, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support these ministries of our national church.  You can learn more about the offering at www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/specialofferings/one-great-hour-sharing-offering/

The Midnight Run in February got snowed out but we’ll be doing a run on Sunday, March 10 and Friday, April 19. More information can be found in the article below.

We currently are drinking fair trade coffee during coffee hour.  We’re looking to make sure that everyone in church knows why we are doing this, and how we can all participate.

Finally, we are talking about mission trips-locally, nationally and internationally.  The work done by volunteers in early January to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy is one way in which we can help out.
