Garrett Artman

Born in Moosehead Lake, Maine, but living in Brookfield, Connecticut, our Director of Music Ministry thinks our church is worth the drive. A graduate of the University of Maine and the Yale School of Music in Piano Performance and Music Education, Garrett’s philosophy is rooted in music being a practice of meditation, discipline, and lifelong self-awareness that allows us to practice failure. Before joining our staff, he was the Old Saybrook Middle School Choir Director and District Pianist.

Outside of FPCY, Garrett is a professional chorus member for Alchemy, a chamber group that performs around New England and runs a private music studio. In his free time he enjoys chicken wings, working out, fermenting hot sauces, and walking his dog.
