New in the Church Library – April, 2012

I Believe in … Christian, Jewish, and Muslim Young People Speak About their Faith (200 G) is a collection of interviews conducted with almost 100 Chicago-area teens–Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Author Pearl Gaskins identifies topics such as religious symbols (crucifixes, scarves, etc.); following (and breaking) religious laws; women’s issues; and the idea of “many faiths, one world.” These first-person accounts display the poignant, sometimes shocking, and always honest way that teens struggle with the role of religion in their daily lives.
