Agape Music Center’s Concerts on The Corner presents Oxalis Trio · Saturday, November 7 · 7:30 PM
The Oxalis Trio — flute, oboe, and piano — was formed in 2023 and is based in New York’s Hudson Valley. Bringing together three accomplished musicians who have won national competitions and performed in concert halls around the world, the ensemble explores the distinctive colors and expressive possibilities of this unique trio of instruments.
The Oxalis Trio’s repertoire spans centuries and styles, from the elegance and intricacy of the Baroque to the rhythmic energy and rich colors of contemporary music. Their programs showcase the full ensemble alongside works that highlight the flute, oboe, and piano in different combinations.
This program takes listeners on a wide-ranging musical journey, beginning with the Baroque brilliance of Johann Joachim Quantz and C. P. E. Bach and continuing through the evocative sound worlds of Gordon Jacob, Astor Piazzolla, Tim Brown, and Miguel del Águila. From intimate sonatas to Piazzolla’s haunting Oblivion and the irresistible energy of del Águila’s Seduction Dance. We hope you will join us!
