The Powers That Be: Theology for a New Millennium” by Walter Wink
I discovered this book while working on my final project for one of my doctoral courses. In it, Walter Wink tackles some of the big questions that so many of us have been asking over the past few years as we’ve watched our nation and communities become more polarized and dysfunctional. In it, Wink invites us to re-imagine ancient religious concepts like God and Satan, angels and demons, principalities and powers, and he lifts up the way of Jesus as a faithful alternative to so much of the turmoil and darkness around us.
If you continue to shake your head at what’s going on in the world today and would like imagine a faithful way forward, please join me for a Summer Reading Group. We will meet twice during the summer to discuss the book. Books are available in the Office for a suggested donation of $11.
