New Thursday and Sunday Sessions: Voices of Resistance, The Bible’s Songs of Victory, Peace and Protest
Join us at 10:30 on Thursdays, beginning April 23, and at 9:15 on Sundays, beginning May 3, as we begin our new series, Voices of Resistance: The Bible’s Songs of Victory, Peace, and Protest, by Amanda C. Miller. Her biography at Abingdon Press states: Amanda C. Miller is a biblical scholar, an ordained minister, and a lifelong musician.
What a perfect person to lead us in discussions of ancient hymns of worship, songs of lament, and proclamations of justice.
Working with both the book and a series of videos with the author, we’ll look at Deborah and Hannah’s songs, Mary’s Magnificat and the Psalms, among other biblical songs. You can watch an introduction.
