Faith4Life – Summer 2025

Adult Education

Inspired: Slaying Giants, Walking on Water, and Loving the Bible Again by Rachel Held Evans will be offered as summer reading for the whole church. The book explores questions like: What does it mean that it is the Word of God? How is it both written by humans and inspired by God? How might we think about passages that seem to contradict each other or don’t fit with our image of God?

The first 4 chapters will be discussed via zoom and in person on Wednesday morning, July 16 and at 7:30 in the evening on July 20th. The next 4 chapters will be discussed on August 24 in the evening at 7:30 and on August 27 at 10:00 in the morning.

On June 11, a new study of Life After Doom by Brian McLaren will begin. It will be held Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm.  In Life After Doom McLaren invites us to examine the habits of our souls and culture to find a path of resilience within our current historical dilemmas. It is a book that helps us to search our souls and examine our hearts to distill what is most important in our faith and lives. It helps us to see what is essential to life after all the noise that we have created in our civilization is gone.
