We have taken certain measures to protect the Sanctuary from the possible impact of hurricane Irene. These actions include closing all shutters and securing them with a board which crosses both shutters and is screw-nailed in place. This will keep the shutters from flapping should we have very strong winds. On occasion, we have had shutters unhook in high winds so this precaution will help to prevent that from happening. Both sump pumps have been checked and everything is operation properly. We will monitor the property today & tomorrow. We have done everything that we think is prudent for this severe storm.
