… and returning in the fall with an array of possibilities. Over the summer your planning team will be looking at ways our adult education offerings can support us as we live as Christ’s disciples—what do we need to learn/study/do to support a Christian way of life? A Christian way of love? If you’ve got some ideas, please let Connie or Tami know—we’d love to have help planning!
Reverend Jim Atwood will be joining us for Peace and Justice Sunday. Reverend Atwood is a retired Presbyterian minister, an avid deer hunter, and the author of Gundamentalism and Where It Is Taking America. In preparation for his visit, we’ll be holding a series of Sunday evening discussions during October around the book Common Ground: Talking About Gun Violence in America.
Our own Timothy Lupfer will talk about Martin Luther on Reformation Sunday, October 27. He traveled to Germany, the land of Luther, and will be sharing his experience.
Thursday mornings at 10 AM we’ll be reading Taste and See: Discovering God Among Butchers, Bakers & Fresh Food Makers by Margaret Feinberg. Each week we’ll explore a different food in the Bible-bread, olives, wine.
During January we will revisit Painting the Stars: Science, Religion and an Evolving Faith. This provocative seven session series looks at issues that face both science and religion, and ask us to expand our minds and beliefs systems to encompass the mystery. You can watch a trailer.
The first Wednesday of each month the Women’s Circle will meet to discuss Love Carved In Stone: A Fresh Look at the Ten Commandments, the Presbyterian Women/Horizons Bible study for this year.
Have a great summer!
