Children in Worship
Children of all ages are always welcome at all of our worship services. Many services include a “Time with Children” where children are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a discussion geared just for them on the theme of the sermon. If you prefer, there is also child care available in the nursery (Room 12, just off of the Gathering Space) for children from infant through kindergarten age.
During the school year our church school (Sunday School) meets at 9:30 every Sunday morning, between the two services. We welcome kids from preschoolers through high school seniors. For details on the format and philosophy please see our Church School page.
While your kids are in Church School, consider joining our adult education class, which is held at the same time. You can drop in any time it’s convenient; you’re always welcome!
From time to time we run a Parenting Class on Sunday mornings, or at other times, focused on the ways we raise our children.
We have active youth groups for middle school and high school youth, who meet for activities of fellowship as well as community outreach.
Yorktown Presbyterian Preschool
Our church hosts the Yorktown Presbyterian Preschool, a a cooperative, non-profit, non-denominational preschool for 3, 4, and 5 year-old children. The YPP also offers a Mommy & Me class for 2 year-olds. The YPP accepts children with special needs as well as any required support personnel (SEIT, OT, etc.).
Vacation Bible School
