WordPress Shortcuts


A shortcut is a way to invoke a WordPress plugin from a text widget.  Normally, shortcuts are invoked by code that is demarcated by square brackets, as in

[<plugin name> arg1=”xxx” arg2=”yyyy”]

If a plugin is used within a “MyInstantWidget” control, then the shortcut must be invoked like this:

<?php echo do_shortcode(“[<plugin name> arg1=’xxx’ arg2=’yyyy’]”); ?>

In addition the “PHP Allowed” option must be turned on at the bottom of the MyInstantWidget edit screen as shown in the following image:
