Your Adult Ed planning team met recently to plan classes for the fall. Here’s a summary of classes planned so far:

The Women’s Circle meets on the first Wednesday morning of each month from 10:30 until noon, starting Wednesday, September 5, 2018 and ending on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. The group is led by Tami Seidel and is following the Presbyterian Women’s Magazine, Horizons curriculum, God’s Promise: I am With You. All women are welcome to attend one or more of these meetings. You don’t have to attend every session to get a lot out of the study!

Our Thursday morning 10 – 11:30 AM class will be discussing Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times, a five-week study developed by Adam Hamilton. You can see a trailer for the book and get some idea of what we’ll be talking about here. Connie Knapp and Tami Seidel will take turns leading. Thursday morning classes will begin on Thursday, September 13th. Join us at any time –you don’t have to attend every session.

The men’s breakfast will be held on Saturday September 15 in Fellowship Hall at 7:30 AM (and this year on the third Saturday of the month).

Sunday morning we’ll also be discussing an Adam Hamilton curriculum-Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity ($11). Enough is an invitation to rediscover the Bible’s wisdom about managing our “stuff” and our financial resources, to change your life by changing your
relationship with money. In these pages are found the keys to experiencing contentment, overcoming fear, and discovering joy through simplicity and generosity.

Early evenings on Sunday (we’re still working on the time) we’ll be running the Painting the Stars: Science, Religion and an Evolving Faith class again. If you missed it last Spring, or even if you were there and want to go a little deeper, please join us for any (or all) of the seven sessions. Based on our experience using this for the Sunday morning hour, we’ll be running 90-minute sessions.

We have a number of continuing Disciple Bible study groups. Interested in the foundation class, Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study? Let Tami tami@fpcyorktown.org or Connie connie.knapp@icloud.com know, along with the day/time that works best for you.

We have a few other offerings still “in the works” so stay tuned!

See you in class!
Connie Knapp, for the Adult Ed Planning Team
