We “shop” at Food Bank of Westchester where a dollar will buy more food than you can imagine, thanks to government and corporate donations. We have a “matching” Trust Fund that will double the effectiveness of every dollar we donate to the Food Pantry. Let’s make good use of this wonderful gift.
Food Pantry – Year End Results
The end of the year report shows that, for all of 2011, the Food Pantry distributed 4,127 bags of food to the needy in our community. This is the most we’ve ever done and an 80% increase since 2008.
We are especially grateful for the financial donations, food contributions and labor support of the congregation, many local community groups, and even strangers we have never met but who have heard of our work or found us on the web.
What a Great Idea for a Gift to the Food Pantry!
Recently friends of Mary Rossetti of Yorktown Heights hosted a birthday party for her. Instead of presents, guests brought bags of groceries. All had a great time and our Food Pantry and its clients gained 12 bags of food thanks to Mary and her friends.
What a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday!
